VANISHING STORE FRONTS
One thing I try to do since moving here is photograph the fantastic store fronts of NYC, especially ones with weathered signage that suggest a lot of history behind the business, stories, etc. As the aesthetic of New York that inspired many of us to move here is destroyed to make luxury rental towers, frozen yoghurt stores, Starbucks or banking institutions, the unique nature of each neighborhood is being eroded. Now the same shops appear on almost every block throughout Manhattan. Gentrification is a bitch. Shot on Mamiya 645 with Kodak Portra 400 film.
